James Cumming
Founder
James founded Simple Safety Advice in 2009 with a straightforward aim: to make health and safety advice practical, accessible and useful to the businesses that need it.
With more than 25 years’ experience in construction safety and senior management, he understands the pressures faced by business owners and project teams. He combines that experience with clear, direct advice, helping clients turn their responsibilities into workable everyday practices.
James acts as a “critical friend”—someone clients can turn to for honest guidance, constructive challenge and support. His work spans retained consultancy, site audits, risk management and Principal Designer services under CDM.
In 2022, James received the British Safety Council’s CEO of the Year Award, recognising his leadership and support for clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, including remote audits, access to testing kits and wellbeing check-ins.
At the heart of his approach is a simple belief: good safety management protects people, supports better decisions and helps businesses run well.
Frazer Visser
Customer Success & Operations Director
Frazer helps turn practical health and safety advice into systems, training and communications that people can use with confidence.
As Customer Success & Operations Director, he oversees client onboarding, training and day-to-day operations, working closely with businesses to understand their needs and help them get the most from Simple Safety Advice and QR Safety.
His background in medical photography, graphic design and running his own business brings a creative, practical perspective to the team. He combines an eye for clear communication with a hands-on approach to solving problems and improving the client experience.
Frazer also leads the development of digital forms, apps and dashboards through QR Safety, helping businesses reduce paperwork, organise their records and make important information easier to access.
Whether delivering a demonstration, building a tailored system or supporting an existing client, his focus is straightforward: make things easier for the people doing the work.
Kevin Neill
Health and Safety Consultant
Kevin brings a direct, practical approach to helping businesses manage workplace risks and improve safety standards.
Working alongside James and the wider Simple Safety Advice team, he supports construction projects across the UK, drawing on experience across multiple industries and major developments.
Kevin is known for giving clear, honest advice and challenging unsafe practices. He helps clients understand their responsibilities, question assumptions and turn requirements into practical actions.
Through consultancy, site visits and training, he works with managers and operatives to build understanding and confidence. His approach combines constructive challenge with coaching, helping teams recognise risks and take ownership of safer working practices.
Kevin’s focus is on making sound safety decisions part of everyday work, with clear expectations and consistent standards.
