HSE Targeting small companies in 2011

The HSE are now beginning to target smaller contractors, sub contractors and companies that are not complying with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).  Smaller agencies are now having more accidents and fatalities than many larger companies, so the HSE’s attention to this topic has shifted.  The HSE has found that many companies still do not understand their legal duties under CDM Regulations and are unaware of their responsibilities when a job is notifiable to the HSE.  Previously, the HSE has not prosecuted these companies, but now they are beginning to ask questions as to why they are not operating safely and complying with the relevant laws and legislations.

If you require any advice or assistance with understanding your responsibilities under CDM Regulations or have any other questions about health and safety in general then please contact us on 0845 0737840 or email us at info@simplesafetyadvice.co.uk for a no obligation consultation.
