HSE consultation on new Cost Recovery Scheme

Under new proposals that could start in April 2012, the Government and the HSE will be making companies that break the law pay to put things right (instead of the public purse).  This means that if your company fails to adhere to health and safety law resulting in an HSE investigation or inspection, fees will be charged at £133 per hour (plus any other specialist support required) until such time as the issue is rectified. Costs must be paid in 30 days.  A consultation on this scheme is being carried out on this until October 2011, see http://www.hse.gov.uk/consult/condocs/cd235.htm
