Is a CDMC required or Not?

One of our clients would have been caught out if they had not checked prior to works commencing that there was actually no need for notification or CDMC. Presuming that all the works was for a private client who would then take residence in their own property there was no need to notify the project.

This would have been correct if that had actually been the case. Our client has a standard check process in place for all developments not subject to the size of the project and they never presume they check, upon checking it turned out that the private client was going to pay for the works through their own company. This resulted in the project being required to be notified and CDM being required.

Its important to consider all works on a job by job basis and never make presumptions…
